Project Contents (what)

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on countries, societies, and individuals, causing various inconveniences in people's lives. The aim of this project is to showcase the entire process of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The data source used is a COVID-19/2019-nCoV database, which has been made public. It is a CSV document that records the time series infection data.

Project Significance (why)

Even though the global pandemic has been contained, there is still a need for continuous monitoring of COVID-19 to prevent further economic shocks. During major outbreaks, data analysis typically plays a central role in the global response.

Therefore, through this visualization project, I hope to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic and extract effective information that can help in future disease prevention and control efforts.

Visualization methods (how)

I plan to create a pandemic dashboard that will aggregate daily infection, death, and recovery data from around the world and present the data in diverse visualizations in order to systematically and comprehensively showcase the outbreak and treatment process of the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. I will design curve groups to show the development trends of the pandemic in various countries.

2. Using the choropleth to provide a more intuitive display of the geographic distribution of the pandemic.

3. The choropleth can also change over time, dynamically showing the spread of the pandemic.
